FIDE is pleased to announce that the 2010 World Blitz Chess Championship will start with a number of online tournaments to be held on the Playchess server during the month of January 2010.

The first three placed of the online preliminary qualification tournaments will be eligible to play with full expenses paid in the Semi Final tournament to be held in Moscow after the Aeroflot tournament on the 18th of February 2010.
